Local Plan Review
All local governments in Georgia must develop Comprehensive Growth Management Plans and Solid Waste Plans on a ten-year cycle. Every five years, the implementation program of each plan must be updated. This Short Term Work Program (STWP) update involves reviewing the previous five-year plan, developing a Report of Accomplishments and a new five-year STWP. Successful completion of the STWP and Plan update processes results in extension of a jurisdiction's Qualified Local Government (QLG) status. The QLG is linked to eligibility for state grants, loans and permits. Coastal Georgia RDC staff assists in the development of plans and STWPs and review these documents for completeness and compliance with data requirements and consistency with the Regional Plan. In addition, the plans are reviewed for the presence of potential conflicts with the plans of neighboring jurisdictions, as well as opportunities for regional solutions to common issues identified in two or more local plans.

The Camden
County Comprehensive Plan Joint Community Agenda is available for
review and comments. A Regional Review Hearing will be held on
Thursday, September 11, 2008 at the CGRDC Brunswick Office. The
hearing is set to begin at 10:00 A.M. Comments will be accepted
until September 8, 2008, and should be addressed as listed below:
The City of Sylvania Agenda is currently available for review
and comments. A Regional Review Hearing will be held on August 21,
2008 at 10:00 am in the CGRDC Statesboro Office. The office is
located in the Bulloch County Agricultural Center, 151 Langston
Chapel Road, Statesboro, GA. Comments will be accepted until August
27, 2008 and should be addressed as listed below.
The Bryan County Joint
Community Agenda is available for review and comments. A Regional
Review Hearing will be held on August 27, 2008 at the J. Dixie Harn
Community Center (Pembroke City Hall). The hearing is set to begin
at 10:00 am. Comments will be accepted until September 3, 2008.
